Romance on the Horizon: 14 Days of Valentines

valentines romanceOh boy. It’s coming.

Even the anti romance types can’t argue with the pull that Valentine’s Day seems to have over the general public. As we discussed in a previous blog post, it’s everywhere. Decorations, bakery sweets, and even in peculiar promotions. There’s no escape, there’s nowhere to hide, and there’s no resistance. And honestly, considering the bright side of Valentine’s (subjective for some people), why would you want to?

Whatever your opinion of Valentine’s Day, we have tips, ideas, and hand-picked auctions (might arrive a little late for Valentine’s Day, but it’s certainly better than being completely empty-handed). So take a break, stop browsing online for flowers and such, and read with us.

Valentine Romance Tips

  • Valentine’s Day cocktails? Worth a shot! Practice in the upcoming weeks to make sure your bartending skills are up to snuff.
  • Plan ahead. You don’t want to be stuck on Valentine’s Day with no dinner reservations, no flowers/candy, empty hands and an angry date.
  • Turn off the phones, lock the doors, and have the whole place to yourselves for the evening – let people know ahead of time that you’ll be incommunicado.
  • Collaborate on an informal photo shoot – you don’t need professional photography skills to take memorable photos you’ll cherish later. Make sure you gather any necessary props ahead of time!
  • Are you or your significant other working that day? Pack each other Valentine-themed lunches.

Do you have anything special planned for Valentine’s Day? Do you spend the first few weeks of February plotting something big? Let us know in the comments! Until next time, good luck, and happy bidding!
