A Family-Oriented Business…

When Chris, our New York Warehouse General Manager, first began working at PropertyRoom.com he was located in our warehouse on the West Coast. A California native, he “started at the bottom, learning to do everything at the processing center and at the front office.”

After 5 years in California, Chris moved his family to Long Island to become the General Manager of our Farmingdale location where he supervises a team of 14 people who do everything from assessing auction items, packing and shipping to providing support for the PropertyRoom.com website. As the General Manager he wears many hats, and has even been interviewed by CNN en Español. Five years later, Chris still finds it surreal to see that Big Apple skyline. He has a wife and two kids. PropertyRoom.com’s P.J. Bellomo always asks Chris about all of them when he calls.

“Where else in my career would I have the CEO phone me up and ask about my family?” Chris says, whose friendship with P.J. began with a lunch he set up for the two of them.

That caring feeling of being comfortable with coworkers and having fun working together spills over into the most exciting part of Chris’ day-to-day operations: when he and his team get to see the auction items unloaded for the first time.

“It’s like Christmas morning, every day,” he says. “They give us a general idea, but we don’t really know until we open up the truck and start processing it.”
